Room 5 Hosts Syndicate Assembly

It was our turn to take the syndicate assembly.  We were so excited and couldn't wait for the time to come.  We remembered what we had to say, smiled, spoke clearly and loudly and sang the song " Try Everything" from the movie Zootopia beautifully.

We also presented our art " The Winter Silhouette".

We can't wait for our turn to host the assembly again!

How to make Banana Milkshake

We visited room 4 so together we could make banana milkshake.  We were so excited as we have been learning about dairy farms and how the milk gets from the cows in the farm to our table.

First, we got all our ingredients together, milk, banana and some honey (we have learned how bees make honey too).
Then we helped to peel and break the bananas and we put them in the blender with milk and honey.
Lastly the teachers switched the blender on and we watched it chop and spin and make the milk frothy and yummy.

The best bit was tasting of the yummy banana milkshake.

We also found out that banana milkshake was healthy too!  Thank you room 4 for having us.

Snag Golf

This was our first week of Snag Golf.  We had a lot of fun learning new skills and revisiting the old ones with coach, Jay.

Militina received the 'good conduct award' for this week.  He is always polite and uses his manners.

Milk and Food Colour Experiment

Question: What happens when we mix food colour with milk?

The result

We found that when we add food colour to milk and use a cotton bud dipped in dishwashing liquid, it seems to 'chase' the food colour around the milk, making beautiful swirling patterns.

Marble Run

Our task: to make the marble roll as far as possible with a gentle throw

First, we rolled the marble to see how far it would go without any tools.  We then had to think of ideas to get it to roll further and could use things in the classroom to help us.
Ong Manout and Reality used their rulers.
Seleti  had an amazing idea which he was very passionate about.  He created a ramp using chairs, books and gutter board and his marbles went the furtherest

Salt and Water Science Experiment

Our question was "what happens when we keep adding salt to water"?

Texas mixing salt in water

Answer: If we keep adding salt to water, after a while the salt doesn't dissolve in water because all the space in the water has been filled so any extra salt just sits at the bottom of the glass.

Then came the question of how do we know that the salt is still there?
To answer this question, we left the salted water in the sun, over the weekend and when we came back on Tuesday (Monday was a holiday), most of the water was gone (evaporated) and we were left with a salt rim.
