The Making of The Rat

We have mice and rats in our environment so we decided to make a rat as part of the Te Oro expo.  First we made a frame out of chicken wire.  Then we covered it with newspaper and glue and left it to dry.  We did this for a few weeks.  We then used hot glue guns to glue strips of fur like fabric.  Lastly we added the nose, the ears, the mouth, the teeth and the paws.

We think we are very lucky not to have a rat of this size in the world!!

  1. Wow this required a lot of patience Room 6.
I thought your rat was the highlight of the exhibition. I did enjoy the creativity and learning on display at the Ruapotaka booth. Your rat caught my eye and drew me in.
Well done to all of you

  4. I hate rats, my cat brings me dead rats. I am so glad that your rat was not a real live one. I would of been so scared if it was live.
