Monarch Butterfly

We have had a monarch butterfly chrysalis in our classroom for 2 weeks and we have been waiting for it to come out.  It came out in the weekend and we discovered it in our classroom on Monday.  It was raining outside so we let it sit on our pea plant by the window so it could get warm.  It started to flutter away and the rain had stopped so we decided it was time to let it go.  It rested on the rose plant outside in our garden then it flew away.

We were going to name it but we couldn't agree on one.  Some of the suggestions were Buttery, Fluttery, Monarch, Jack and Steve.  What do you think?
Time for a rest

We hope it's going to visit us one day!!

  1. Hi room 5 i think that the butterfly picture looks amazing. It looked like you guys enjoyed playing with the butterfly. I would like to know how many days did it take for the butterfly to spread its wings once it came out of the chrysalis?
